Polices

We don't hide behind who we are, and that goes for our polices, too! Whether you are just checking us out, already a customer, or maybe even a fellow service provider looking to gain some ideas, we strive to have our site as a quick and easy resource for all.

Rescheduling Policy

This policy applies when grass growth slows down. Please understand that we have your properties best interest in mind when we decide if it can wait or if it needs to be serviced.

If both Generous Family Mowing Service and property owner/manager agrees that the property does not need to be mowed, there will be no additional fee.

If Generous Family Mowing Service feels your property needs to be mowed and you still do not want us to mow, we will have to impose a holding fee, due to be paid by the currently scheduled service date. We often have a waiting list of potential clients that really want our service. In order to hold your spot on our client list, you will be charged half of your locked-in rate.

Factors influencing our decision on if a property should grow out or be mowed:

We understand your concerns for your yard.
  • Browning occurs everywhere- it is natural during dry or hot times of the season as grass goes dormant. This is largely in part due to environmental factors. It does not mean, in most cases, growth has completely stopped.
We use science and experience to make our determination to cut or let grow.
  • Grass thrives on being actively managed.
  • Only up to 1/3 of the blade should be removed during each mow- if we mow at 3 ½”, just over 1” would be 1/3 of the blade. Anything more taken off can stress the grass, which is already stressed from environmental factors. Taking less than 1” off at a time is more beneficial and reduces stress, which is what we try to do.
  • Many grasses may be dormant; however, other plants (like weeds) are still growing. It is best to keep them maintained to prevent them from going to seed.
  • Our goal is to promote naturally healthy lawns. The last thing we want is to stress your property out by mowing too frequently.
Why we have to do this
  • We communicate with you, please communicate with us. Let’s work together as a team to make this critical decision for your properties best interest.
  • We have multiple properties we service. When we have to reschedule for a later date, we have to rearrange the entire schedule. While we understand this happens, and it is necessary, this will reduce the amount we have to change the schedule. Scheduling is more flexible for weekly properties, bi-weekly properties we have less flexibility.
  • We are a full mowing service business and we have to run it as such. We have a handful of months to make the revenue we need to keep this service affordable and available to our valued clients. We are not out to take advantage of anyone, but we respectfully ask for open communication.

Estimate Policy

We are unable to hold your place in our schedule while estimates are being compared. We understand that comparing estimates is an important part of the decision-making process. However, due to scheduling demands, we cannot reserve openings while customers are obtaining estimates from other service providers.
To respect your time, Generous Family Mowing Service LLC presents our final, most competitive price right away. Our response time is very fast and accurate.
Our schedule fills quickly, so Generous Family Mowing Service LLC doesn’t "wait" while customers shop around. If you decide to move forward with our services, we'll do our best to accommodate you with the next available opening. If all openings are taken, we will gladly add you on our waitlist.
